CHALLENGE

ABB S.p.A., a Swiss-Swedish multinational electrical engineering company headquartered in Zurich and operating in robotics, power and automation in over 100 countries, commissioned Realmore to design a virtual platform for internal sharing of ideas and projects at all levels of the company.

Fostering innovation processes within the company while reducing organisational silos that limit communication and interaction between different departments and, within those departments, between different areas and functions within the company, requires the implementation of cutting-edge digital tools capable of overcoming communication barriers to the development of local and global projects with high added value.

The goal of improving communication, even remotely, between employees in various departments and divisions throughout Italy, required the ability to combine a simple and intuitive User Experience with new features and design tools that would help people in ABB to express their innovative ideas by organizing them effectively in a shared networking space. What solution could we provide to ABB to facilitate the development of new ideas and projects and stimulate continuous interaction and collaboration among employees?

To help ABB stimulate idea sharing and cross-functional collaboration across departments and divisions, Realmore has designed a dynamic virtual platform that can reduce organizational silos and help each person in ABB express their ideas and potential.

Each user can register on the platform by creating a personal profile and entering all the information about the role in the company, skills, hobbies and interests. At any time, from any place and on any device, it is possible to create new projects and events, build working groups to carry out certain tasks or ask to join an existing team. In addition, thanks to the indexing and filtering system, each user can easily identify among their colleagues those with the most suitable professional characteristics to become part of the project team.
